DEA Agent Kills His Partner In
"an alcohol-induced phychotic episode."
Gets Only 15 Years for Murder.
Well, It Isnt As Though He Had Done Something Serious, Like Growing Marijuana!
We Couldnt Make This Up!
(Marijuananews note: We really couldnt
make this up. This story has everything in it -- except marijuana. And that is the whole
point. People get life in prison for growing a plant, and if a marijuana grower were to
kill a DEA agent they would certainly face the death penalty. But when a DEA agent kills
his partner, he gets only 15 years! Well, he was drunk, and that could happen to anyone!
This story should be thrown in the face of every prohibitionist.)

AGENT SENTENCED IN SHOOTING
Fort Lauderdale, Fa. (AP) - A former Drug Enforcement Administration agent was given
the maximum sentence of 15 years in prison for shooting his partner
while in a drunken stupor.
Richard Fekete, 57, who pleaded guilty to manslaughter in the shooting of his partner,
Shaun Curl, was also sentenced to 15 years probation, random drug testing and counseling.
An undercover DEA agent testified that Fekete had got drunk at
a Metro-Dade Police Christmas party and had to be helped to his car.
Curl, 39, was driving Fekete to his home when Fekete pulled his gun and shot him
several times in the head and chest.
A psychologist, a physchiatrist and a neuro-psychologist testified that Fekete was
having an alcohol-induced phychotic episode.
Neuro-psychologist Dr. Jorge Herrera testified that in 1993, Fekete suffered brain
damage in a fall in 1993. He was advised not to drink, because alcohol combined with a
brain injury can trigger violent behavior.
