A Medical Marijuana User Says
That "Marinol Rescheduling Is Worthless" For Him.
He Simply Cannot Afford It. "My country is killing me."
(Marijuananews note: When Marie Antoinette said,
"Let them eat cake," she was not being as heartless as those who dismiss the
need for medical marijuana by saying in effect"Let them eat
Marinol." The problem in both cases is that there are many people who just cannot
afford food, medicine, and other luxuries, like clothing and shelter. In DEAland the
Congress is debating "patients rights" but the right not to be arrested
for using a plant will not be on the agenda.)See

I am writing about the recent rescheduling of Marinol. When I read the posting on your
site last Friday evening, I immediately fired off an e-mail to my neurologist, and asked
to try it. We had been anxiously awaiting this rescheduling in the hopes that Marinol
would be effective for my illness.
I went directly across the street to the clinic pharmacy and was
told their supply was minimal, expired, and if theyd been able to fill it would have
cost $450.00 for a one-month minimal dosage.
Exasperated and ill, I returned the prescription to my doctor, and prepared to drive
ten hours to Seattle to JoAnne McKee and Green Cross. Unfortunately, I was too sick to
continue on alone on such a long trip, and had to turn around a few hours outside of town.
I am now resting with the intention of going as soon as I am well enough. I just wanted
you to know that the Marinol rescheduling is worthless to someone
like myself who is on disability and has no prescription coverage under Medicare.
No wonder they wont reschedule marijuana: How can the drug companies make their
huge profits if we can grow the plants for free ourselves?
I feel violated. I am ill and my doctors try to help and then they have to watch their
efforts thwarted by prohibitive cost of the drug weve waited months to try.
